As part of their preparation for Confirmation, 6^th class children attended a retreat with Fr. Marken in his garden on the afternoon of Friday 18^th June. They were joined on the day by Ms. Walsh and Mrs. Corrigan. Luckily the sun was shining as the children gathered round in a circle for some co-operative games and activities. They feasted on tasty meals from McDonald’s and afterwards Fr. Marken hosted a table quiz for the class. There was an official unveiling of a Buddy Bench, handmade and painted by Dylan Devereux and his father Bobby – a kind donation to the school which we will treasure always. Then the children participated in a most beautiful Ceremony of Light, led by Fr. Marken in the church. All in all, it was a very memorable occasion which we hope will live on in the minds of the children for many years to come.
