SCHOOL HOURS: 

School opens to receive pupils each morning at 9.20 am.Classes end each day at 3.00 pm. Instruction for Infants ends at 2.00 pm and these pupils should be collected from school at that time each day.

In accordance with Allianz insurance policy, the school is under obligation to make you aware of the following information:

• Supervision before and after school

“The school yard will be supervised from 9.10am-9.20am in the morning. For the purposes of health and safety of all children, parents are asked to remind their children that they are only permitted on the grounds in front of the school during this time (no children are allowed around the sides or the back of the school during this time with the exception of those locating their bicycle at the bicycle rack). School will be opened at 9.20am.

School will finish at 3.00pm each day. Parents who wish to have their children escorted home should make arrangements to meet them at the gate and the person to escort them should be at the school no later than 3.00pm. Similarly, “the school yard will be supervised from 3.00pm-3.10pm in the afternoon. For the purposes of health and safety of all children, parents are asked to remind their children that they are only permitted on the grounds in front of the school during this time (no children are allowed around the sides or the back of the school during this time with the exception of those collecting their bicycle at the bicycle rack)  After 3.10pm the school cannot accept responsibility for children on the grounds unless they are engaged in an extra-curricular activity approved by the school.

The same supervision exists on all days of the school year and in all weather conditions.

In the case of children travelling by the school bus, the school cannot accept responsibility for escorting them from the bus to the school or from the school to the bus. Those parents who feel that their children need to be escorted on these occasions should make arrangements to ensure that some escort if provided.

• Early collections/collections during the day- Sign in and Sign out

For health and safety reasons, the main door will be closed after children arrive at school each day. In the event of parents needing to collect their children during the day e.g. for the dentist, doctor, if your child is sent home sick  etc. there will be a sign in and sign out book at reception. This ensures that the school has a record of ALL children in the building at ALL times should there need to be an emergency exit. The school are happy to facilitate parents in any way that they can but must ensure that this is done in a systemic and organised manner.
Parents are asked to remind their children that they are not allowed in or on the school grounds outside school hours without permission from the Board of Management.
