Welcome to our Section on the Active School Flag.

We began our journey under the direction of our principal Ms. Walsh in September 2014. Since then, we have had 3 Active weeks 2015, 2016, 2017 and are about to plan our 4th! Watch this space.

We have engaged in many evaluations, target setting and activities to improve our overall level of activity at Piercestown National School. This has involved all stakeholder at Piercestown N.S. from pupils to staff to parents and members of our wider community.

We finally submitted our application towards the end of the school year 2017 when we felt that we truly had the ethos of what an ‘Active School’ is, well embedded in our school culture. Since, then we continue to aspire to the greatest levels of activity and well being and await patiently for our accreditation visit. We look forward to updating you when we hear more!
