As part of our efforts to be an Active School, Skipping 4 Life day is to be held on this Thursday 17th September 2015.
I am delighted to inform you that we have invited “Skippy John” from “Skipping 4 Life” to work with all year groups to teach various skipping skills and then present a “show” to the whole school on the above date. “Skippy John” (the name Richard Hammond gave him when he appeared on “Total Wipeout”) has over 7 years of experience teaching & demonstrating skipping skills in primary schools across the UK.
Skipping 4 Life’s aim is to encourage children and adults to skip for health, fun and fitness, whilst promoting modern and traditional skipping games, including Individual Skills, Partner Skipping, Double Dutch & Long Rope Team Games.
All classes will be partaking in a skipping workshop. Ropes are provided for the work shop on the day.
The cost of the workshop for the children will be €2. Please send €2 in on the day.
At 2.30pm there will be a show in the hall for ALL parents to marvel at their children’s skipping efforts! Parents are welcome to come along to the show and we look forward to seeing you there J
Remember our Active School Slogan ‘Walk, run, jump or skip come on Piercestown let’s get fit!!’
Great Idea ! Do Junior Infants stay in school until 2.30?
Hi Breege.
No infants will be doing their session but wont be part of the 2.30pm Show.
Infants go home at the normal time of 2pm.
Kind regards,
Laura
