Wellness Seminars St Martins Community Centre
Peadar Maxwell is a Chartered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland and has worked in child, adolescent and family psychology for twenty years and will present two seminars in St Martins Community Centre. The first seminar is open to adults and the second seminar is open to children aged 12 – 16yrs . We invite all members of the community to attend these events.
Adult Seminar – Thursday 16th May @ 7.30pm
In this evening seminar Peadar will discuss common and current topics and concerns regarding the emotional health of children and young people. From anxiety to peer pressure, from parenting to mentoring, risk taking behaviour to building resilience. The talk aims to offer parents, trainers and coaches an overview of and guidance to promote awareness and understanding of child and adolescent emotional health.
Children’s Seminar (12- 16yr olds) – Monday 20th May @ 7.30pm
Building on the seminar for adults, this talk is designed for children and adolescents. With their developmental needs and peer and societal pressures in mind, Peadar will discuss a range of topics in a supportive and positive way. Understanding normal worries and anxiety, developing resilience to peer pressure, and self-care in new situations will all be discussed in a way to boost confidence and self-care behaviours.
