This year the children of Piercestown N.S. had the opportunity to take part in ‘We are Writers’.  Whether it was a few words or a few pages each child from Junior Infants to Sixth Class in our school were encouraged to take part.

This project provides the children with a unique experience to write and become an author. Not only that, but it gives the child the chance to see their own piece of writing published in a real book.

The children from First Class to Sixth Class also had the opportunity to illustrate the book cover and even though the saying goes ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ we had some amazing illustrations for our book cover and a very stiff competition. Siobhán had the toughest job of all when trying to pick the winning illustration for our We are Writers book.
