Hello everybody and welcome to Piercestown’s Young Scientist & Technology 2021. Over the coming month we are going to be putting on our lab coats each week and becoming scientists. Every week a list of fun and interesting STEM activities will be allocated to the class groupings found in our school. If you can complete two a week you will be added to our PT Science Hall of Fame upon returning to the school. These experiments are based around items you would find in your household so no need to shop.

Each week I will explain the ideas, questions and how to get started behind that weeks STEM activities in a short video that you and your child can watch. You can do any of the STEM activities from any of the class groupings. However we do recommend starting with your own child’s class group.

Any photographs or short videos of the experiments can be sent to bmurphy@piercestownns.com to be shown on the blog over the coming weeks.

STEM is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through STEM, students develop key skills including: problem solving, creativity, independent thinking and many more important skills.
