Are you footloose and fancy free at 11.30am tomorrow?
Come along and see the children of Piercestown N.S. participate in a sponsored walk in aid of Chernobyl Children International at St. Martin’s walking track.
Our very own 6th class teacher, Miss Julie Sinnott, will travel to Vesnova with the raised funds over the February mid term break. We will update you on a final figure shortly.
Huge thanks to the Board of Management for their support for such a worthy cause.
We would like to thank all of the sponsors, Fresh TODAY, who sponsored refreshments for all of the children after the walk, St. Martin’s for providing the venue, Anna Hayes in the People Paper for her PR and promotion of the event, DJ Mick Kelly for creating the atmosphere and the following people for donation of funding and/or spot prizes on the day: GJM Contracts, Joyces Electrical, Halfords, Playzone, Roches Garage Drinagh, Mr. Oil, Selskar Bookshop and Hanrahan’s Londis, Piercestown.
But the biggest thank you of all goes to each and every member of our school community who have contributed in such a generous way to this worthy cause.
We look forward to the event tomorrow (fingers crossed for dry weather) and an update from Miss Sinnott upon her return. Watch this space!
