Mini 7’s kicked off today March 3rd with the boys out first. The boys travelled to Rathangan to face arch rivals Rathangan in the first match. There was huge rivalry given the close match that ended in a draw during the Rackard league group games. Unfortunately, for Piercestown Rathangan were too good today and got the upper hand. The boys however showed great resilience by going on to have a great second match and taking a win over Tagoat. Unfortunately, they didn’t win their group so the boys wont march on. Next Tuesday March 10th will see the boys head to Hollymount to begin their hurling campaign. Training has been taking place since the early new year thanks to the St. Martin’s Club. Many thanks to all involved. Next Tuesday the boys will face Blackwater and Castlebridge. This will get the hurling off to a start before Rackard league hurling kicks off post Easter.
The girls will line out under the guidance of Ms. Hearne for their mini 7s football in their homeground this Thursday March 5th at 12.45pm They will face Kilrane, Barntown and Curracloe. Best of luck to the girls. Their camogie campaign kicks off Thursday 12th March in Killurin where the girls will take on Glynn, Barntown, Screen and Blackwater. Watch this space for a sports update!
