Our latest Setanta Book Club is now online for this month only. There are hundreds of fantastic children’s books to choose from and with every euro you spend this month, we will earn 20c in rewards for free books for our school libraries. Please place your order online by February 1st, 2016.
Wexford Library
Help your child to read. How to best help and support your child during the first stages of reading. Guest speaker is Cathriona Mernagh from missmernagh.com. This event takes place on Thursday January 21st 7.30 – 9.00 pm. Free event. Booking is recommended.

Class of the month
Congratulations to Junior Infants who won Class of the month for December. They are working very hard at all their work and are excellent in the yard. They brought such colour to our Christmas service. They enjoyed a party and movie on Friday and had no homework last night.
Thousandaire
Piercestown Parents Association are having a meeting on Tuesday the 12th of January at 7 pm in the school with the Thousandaire company for phase 2 of organizing the event on Friday March 4th. This is a very sociable and rewarding fundraiser to participate in, so we are asking for volunteers to work with us at any level over the next few weeks. Wexford Chess
Primary School Chess Tournament, Brandon House Hotel, New Ross on Saturday, January 23rd 2016 from 10 am to 3 30 pm. All age groups and playing levels catered for. Individual and Age-Group prizes. Registration at 10 am. Entry fee 10 euro per player (includes lunch).
Liturgy
A special children’s liturgy will be held at 7 pm in St Martins church, Piercestown tomorrow evening, January 9th. First,second and third class are invited to this mass. Second class are preparing for first Confession and Communion so we really encourage them to come along.
Fundraising News
Piercestown Parents Association Christmas raffle and Mini Bazaar made 2000 euro. Well done and thanks to everyone for your great support.
Fifth class held a cake sale in aid of homeless people on Friday December 18th and made 515 euro. This was presented to Mr Dan Redmond from Wexford Lions club for Ozanam House in Wexford. Ozanam House provides shelter for homeless men. Well done fifth class.
Six big hampers of food items were collected in school before Christmas. Mr Dan Redmond and Mr John Staunton collected these for Ozanam House. Thanks to everybody who contributed to these worthy causes.
